Currently I am actively doing research on ZnO, TiO2 and SiO2 Nanoparticles, Anti-bacterial responses, Semiconductors (Varistors), Ferrites, Ceramic-Metal-Polymer Composites, Dental Composites, Biopolymers and Opto-Electronics [1998-present]. Above are my photo, French ZnO industrial furnaces (used in my nano-research), nanorods & wires, nanomallet, nanotripod, nanoplate & rods, TEM-SAED of hexagonal facets and ZnO semiconductors (varistors).
With a team of five PhD, two MSc students, five biomedicine scientists, two polymer experts and three consultants, I am exploring the morphological impact of ZnO nanoparticles on the structural, optical, electrical, antibacterial and anticancer responses. It is hoped that one day, we can discover new and better medications/innovations for the good of mankind.
My other related interests include the applications of nanomaterials in photonics, rubber/polymer industries, UV-protection pharmaceuticals, photocatalysis, anti-viral/bacterial healthcare and nano-textiles. I received eduation from Iowa State University and Universiti Sains Malaysia . I am also providing consultation and doing collaboration with several Zn-ZnO companies, namely

I am a journal reviewer of four ISI journals by Elsevier (Europe) and one IEEE transactions (TNANO) - journals on materials science, inorganic chemistry and nanotechnology. I have over 40 publications on nanostructures, surge suppressors, varistors, semiconductors and solid state physics. My papers are published in_ISI journals, IEEE proceedings, peer-reviewed journals and_conference proceedings.
I am providing advise/consultation to several ZnO and arrester factories in several countries and also to a university research national project (IRPA 02-02-04-0132EA001). All my nano-crystals are synthesized using factory furnaces and pilot plant thereby raising the commercial value of research findings.
For a decade, I have worked as an engineer at Nippon Steel, Thomson, Sumitomo, Acme and Rolnic; factories that manufacture ZnO varistors, arresters, ferrites, substrates, capacitors and ceramic tiles. While in the industry, I have mass produced about 1 billion components exported worldwide and I have handled 15 ball mills, 4 spray dryers, 50 pressing machines, 14 tunnel kilns, 13 furnaces and many other processing machineries. Apart from manufacturing, I have experience in building one factory, bottom-up, and developed several dozens of product prototypes (tiles, ferrite cores and varistors) that were eventually mass produced. I cherish my decade-long industry work due to the satisfaction of overcoming paramountal challenges of the industry.
